Case Study
With the support of the United Nations Population Fund, close cooperation with the Tbilisi city hall's Screening Center, The National Center for Disease Control and Public Health has created a Unified cancer registry, which includes both screening and cancer populations.
The system provides information continuity screening, monitoring and analysis of oncological data, provides accurate information about the incidence and spread of cancer in Georgia and assesse the efficiency of various programs. It is mainc source of information for planning and administering various state programs, which will determine cancer policies nationwide.
Through an unified information system, it willbe possible to collect continuous healthcare informationon the patient and idetify the factors that can hamper the continuity of the process.
The system provides an assessment of the consistency and adequacy of the process in accordance with the existing guidlines and protocols in the country and can be used as a quality control tool.
